Örnfrakt has hired CoreIT to streamline its IT environment. The goal is to minimize their operating costs and to further increase
operational reliability. The solution utilizes the very latest technology to achieve the highest possible outcome. The solution consists of hardware from HP and software from VMware, Vizioncore and 2X.
System solution of virtual servers based on VMware.
At Örnfrakt we create a server platform based on VMware software, this provides the opportunity for several servers to share the same hardware and that both resource utilization and availability are higher.
For Örnfrakt, this meant investing in a new server and expanding an existing server. The servers are then connected to a common disk storage area.
In the new environment, among other things, dual Windows Terminal Servers are set up for the distribution of applications. These are load balanced via 2X Load Balaner.
Backup solution to disk
Backup of the virtual servers is managed using Vizioncore’s vRanger Pro and Symantec Backup Exec.
The backup environment consists of a backup server with a separate disk drawer (2.5 Tb space) where all backups are stored.
A new backup routine is set up which includes “backup to disk”, which provides shorter backup times, easier handling of file recovery and a lower cost as fewer backup tapes are required. In addition, the manual handling of changing tapes etc. is reduced.
