ESET PROTECT – Antivirus protection for businesses
The service includes:
- Antivirus license for servers, computers, tablets and smartphones.
- Updates of antivirus patterns.
- Alarm management and control of alarms.
- Adjustment of the license file regarding the number of devices to be/can be handled.
- New versions of the antivirus client are included, i.e. packaging and pushing to the devices
Extended antivirus protection
If your company needs extended anti-virus protection, there are more features and components to activate and configure. Some of these features may take more performance from the device and where performance/benefit must be weighed against each other.
Examples of complements to ESET PROTECT Entry may be a need for protection against malware (eg virus / Trojan / worm), then the computer is isolated from the network if it cannot be deleted automatically. Other functions may be the need for pages about violence, games or the like to be blocked from access.
Enabled features from startup
- LiveGrid – Cloud service that ESET communicates with to provide better real-time protection.
- Shared Local Cache – Causes scanning of the exact same files (primarily OS and application files) to generate a HASH so that multiple computers do not scan the same file once it is already identified as clean.
- Host-based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS ) – Identifies “abnormal behavior” on a device and stops what is detected.
- Advanced Memory Scanner – Monitors processes that are masked or encrypted in working memory, when these processes are finally decoded in system memory, this scanner is immediately activated.
- Exploit Blocker – Monitors applications, whose security holes are usually exploitable (browser programs, document reader programs, e-mail programs, Flash, Java, etc.).
- Ransomware Shield – The technology monitors and evaluates all running programs based on their behavior and reputation. It is designed to detect and block processes, whose behavior is similar to ransomware.
- Firewall – Local firewall enabled on the device (servers excluded).
- Network Attack Protection (IDS ) – Network Attack Protection is an extension of firewall technology with improved detection of known vulnerabilities at the network level.
- Botnet protection – Detects malicious communications used by botnets while identifying the culprit processes.
- Web AV/Filtering – Scans web pages for malware.
- Antiphishing – Cloud service that blocks known websites used for “phishing” to steal information.
