Together with CoreIT, the office supply store has developed a virtual solution and at the same time switched to a Citrix environment for application distribution. Through this solution, the office supply store expects to halve its electricity and cooling costs in its data center.
The office building is in an expansive phase with several new establishments that have taken place over a long period of time. This requires measures to be taken in the central server operation.
Corresponding savings are also expected on the client side, in the form of shorter start-up times and advanced energy-saving features.
The office supply store has realized that properly used IT can be a means of greening its operations and contribute to a lower environmental impact in general. At the same time, it provides improvements for users and a lower total cost for the company.
